Etymology

boettgeri: in honor of Oskar Boettger (1844-1910), herpetologist at "Museum der Senckenbergischen Naturforschenden Gesellschaft in Frankfurt am Main"

Type material and localities

Holotype: ZMB 11521 (Bauer, Günther & Robeck, 1996). Type Locality: "Ituri-Fähre bei Wandesoma".

Distribution

Country records from Cameroun, Zaïre. Limits are: NORTH: Cameroun: Bamenda (05°56'N, 10°10'E) — SOUTH: Zaïre: Nyaleke, riv. (00°28'N, 29°32'E) — WEST: Cameroun: Nkebe waterfall (04°49'50''N, 09°55'29''E) — EAST: Zaïre: Maginda (00°49'N, 29°54'E).
